Stuart is a Consultant in Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Stuart specialises in financial services and regulatory matters. He was forefront in interest rate swap litigation against investment banks and gave a presentation to the All Party Parliamentary Group of MP's on the subject as well as having been quoted in the coverage by the Daily Telegraph on this issue. He has particular expertise in SIPP and SSAS matters, advising a SIPP trustee company and has also acted in disputes relating to the sale of UCIS products. Stuart offers unique skills as a lawyer, having worked in the financial services industry over many years.

Professional Background

Having qualified as a solicitor in 1986, Stuart worked at Eversheds for 3 years and then joined the legal group of a major insurance company where he then progressed to a senior management role in the legal and compliance department of Pearl Assurance.  He then was managing director of the London Life group of companies prior to being seconded to work in Sydney, Australia on some high profile group projects. Stuart then joined KPMG as a director in the Banking and Finance department of KLegal, its associated law firm. Stuart then started his own law firm in 2002 which he later sold prior to joining Thomas Simon in November 2013.
